High School Sailing is alive and kicking at HSC with 14 teams from our part of town participating in our program. We practice every Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 4-8 (or sunset later in the fall) with our 5 coaches running the kids through their paces. We hosted our first event September 11 with the Thomas Worthington Invitational bringing in 20 teams from around the state. A picture perfect day with temperatures in the 80s with 15 knot winds testing all sailors old and new. One of the coolest things about this event is the number of kids that are brand new to HS Sailing that take part, including 18 from our HSC Junior program.

Not to be outdone, our college sailing friends from Ohio State and Denison are hard at work getting back on the water after their own 18 month hiatus. Recruiting efforts have started to pay dividends as our first practices with Ohio State are bringing 15-20 students to the lake, including 4 of our recent HS Sailing graduates attending OSU! The Ohio State Invitational is set to happen September 18-19, the first college regatta at Hoover since Fall 2018!

There are always a few members hanging out on shore watching the sailing in the evenings . . . come out and join them! Or Visit us at www.hooversailing.com
