S.A.i.L. Participants,

A summer therapy session was just what we needed!  Seven participants came out to enjoy a Saturday afternoon on the pond at the beginning of the Labor Day weekend.   Mark White, our therapy manager, did an excellent job of managing the session and keeping the course lined up with a less than cooperative northeast breeze that ranged between 4 and 10 mph.   There were definitely a few shifts and a few holes that required one keep looking outside the boat for the next opportunity.

Nate really had it dialed in and won the series with three firsts and three seconds after discarding a third place for a throw-out.   Sarah was only 2 points behind.  Then there were rest of us.   While I was in third place, I realized that I had the greatest standard deviation for the day, which in non-statistical terms means that I had the greatest the variability in my scores, or in other words I spent time sailing with everyone in the fleet.   During our apres’ sail gathering at the end of the day, we all agreed it was a beautiful sail-day …. (so to the tune of “Beautiful Sunday” by Danial Boone)

Beautiful Sail-Day
Saturday morning, up with the lark
Could be a day to sail round some marks
Hey hey hey, it’s a beautiful day
Sailoholics are waiting for me
And when I get there I know that they’ll say
Hi hi hi, what a beautiful day!
Hey hey hey, beautiful Sail-day
Lets go race race race our lasers today
When you said said said said lets go sailing
Oh my my my its a beautiful day
The race has started, there wind by my side
Sheet and hike, lets go for a ride
Hey hey hey, it’s a laserin’ day
We’ll sail upwind and down on the run
Seven races make for some fun
Hey hey hey, what a beautiful day
Hey hey hey, beautiful Sail-day
Lets go race race race lasers today
When you said said said said lets go sailing
Oh my my my its a beautiful day
Hey hey hey, beautiful Sail-day
Lets go race race race lasers today
When you said said said said lets go sailing
Oh my my my its a beautiful day

We may be looking for more opportunities to get together before it gets down to our normal operating temperature.  Stay tuned!
